Upon arrival in Chicago, we’ve purchased a Ventra card from the subway station at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The Ventra card can be used as payment for transit (includes public bus and public railways) and also for everyday purchases in Chicago. Ventra card is like a debit card and can be refilled at subway stations. During initial purchase of the card, you’ll be charged with $5.00 refundable deposit plus the initial card’s load for a minimum of $10.00.
