This tunnel in Okinawa was digged by the Japanese navy during the World War 2 and served as their headquarters. Now, the local government of Okinawa turned this into a memorial. This tunnel is so huge that it will make you wonder how the soldiers did it without the use of machineries.

There are no subways in Okinawa but they have monorails. People usually use monorails and buses for commuting.

Let’s talk about the first weird thing I found in Okinawa. We ate lunch and guess what, we ate tacos and rice = taco rice. It’s a local food in Okinawa. Hmm, just imagine your eating tacos and rice. It’s weird but I can like it. One meal costs ¥650.00.

While waiting for the next train to Tsuruga, we had a quick lunch of udon and so a at Fukui station. Each bowl costs ¥400. Udon and soba shops are very common in every train stations here in Japan.

This is grilled salmon served with fresh vegetables and homemade butter. Yhep, you’ve read it right – homemade butter. We ate this for lunch at a restaurant near Tamaboko in Kanazawa. The owner of the restaurant is also a local fish dealer. We eat at his restaurant frequently because we know that they serve the freshest fish.
