During our one month stay in Ginowan, we lived in this place. We’ve made a contract with Leopalace21 which is one of the very few real estate agents in Japan which offers a monthly lease. One month accommodation in this place costs ~¥80,000. The unit already has basic appliances (IH stove, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV, and AC) when we arrive. There’s also a separate toilet and bath room. Inside the main room which we use as both living room and bedroom are 2 futons, blankets, sheets and a big closet. Today, we’re saying goodbye to this homy place.

After 3 months of the bloody Battle of Okinawa during World War 2, the commanding general of the Japanese navy in Okinawa, General Oto committed suicide. General Oto left a letter before he died asking for a special consideration to the people of Okinawa. The books I’ve read during my primary education only talked about the evil deeds of the Japanese during WW2. The Former Japan Navy Headquarters has thought me that everyone was a victim during the war. It’s a place that shouldn’t be missed when you go to Okinawa.
