This is a famous tourist spot here in Yamagata called the Ginzan Onsen. You can try a Japanese bath at these inns or what Japanese call ryokans. There are also souvenir shops along.

The cheapest way to travel around Japan is by using Seishun 18 Kippu. Japan Railway (JR) usually have this promo three times a year (summer, winter, spring). If you have this ticket you can hop in and drop off at any JR train/subway stations anywhere in Japan. Each ticket is valid for 5 days and costs ¥11,500. Recently, we’ve visited 11 prefectures in Japan by using the seishun 18 kippu.

Hokke, a famous fish in Hokkaido. This one is salted and dried and it was okay. I bet eating fresh hokke would be better. This was served with rice and seafood miso soup for ¥1,200.

Hakodate City will not let Hokkaido down when it comes to food. This was our lunch when we stayed at Hakodate, seafood donburi composed of kani (crab meat), uni (sea urchin), and salmon roe. This bowl costs ~¥1,500.
